My research interests.

Machine learning is my passion, I started working with artificial neural networks at 2005 during my engineering degree final project, and I have continued working with them until today. Diverse applications and tasks have been tackled during this time. Handwritten text recognition is one of the most important, we achieved state-of-the-art results in the IAM-DB using a hybrid HMM/ANN system. During my PhD I have implemented different decoders for speech and machine translation as well as handwriting recognition, and developed some ideas around language modeling using neural networks. Currently I'm working with time-series forecasting, epileptic seizure prediction and computer vision problems.
